Those with the Luxury Collection Specialist Designation market themselves as luxury experts by way of exclusive marketing collateral available only to those with the designation. They also receive exclusive invitations to networking events, including the annual Luxury Collection reception at Sales Convention.
To become a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Luxury Collection Specialist, network members must meet certain criteria and submit a formal application. The designation is valid for five years and those wishing to renew their status must meet set criteria and complete and submit a renewal form.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Luxury Collection properties first and foremost should meet the luxury price point threshold set per zip/postal code by each company and provided to the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Luxury Marketing Team. In addition to meeting the luxury threshold, the property also needs to:
- Be universally considered as luxury—ie have a current/updated aesthetic and be tastefully furnished or staged
- Be well maintained and in good condition. It should not be considered a tear down
- Comparable to other luxury properties within the region it is located in terms of size, amenities, and special features etc.
Properties that are within the luxury threshold appear on the BerkshireHathawayHS.com website with a Luxury Collection banner and are able to be marketed as luxury. Listing agents of a property designated as luxury do not need to be a Luxury Collection Specialist, but should consider applying for the designation once they meet the criteria.
